You can call me a feminista

I might be bit slow when it comes to news.-But to my excuse I was on Holiday, and didn't see a point of doing my regular check of news via some sort of searching machine.

or anything other.

I think I just didn't do anything worthwhile for the last couple weeks of my holiday.

however this I should not have ignored.

A group of legislators in Ohio are pushing a bill that would give men a say in whether or not a woman can have an abortion.

I am not American,so it's not my place to say.Except I am a woman and it is.

This is rich.

I mean I am Christian and on principle I don't accept abortions unless the reasons are very heavy.I guess I have always been traditional like that.If you make mistakes, then you do but you should always be ready to face the consequences.

But I have always believed in woman's right to choose.I am raged that this bill is even being pushed, what does it say about modern culture.

About any culture for that matter.

I get that some men think that it is wrong to take the power of decision away from them. But does the man carry the baby,be it's primary parent and care for him or her?Even if the woman decides to keep the baby, what's to say anything about the father?

I'd like to believe in the goodness of people.Really, but to simply accept that: "Well I'm the father, you are going to spent the rest of your life with our child."And then he'd walk out the door.

Our lives, not theirs. While I understand how terribly deeply the fathers must be suffering from this terrible injustice. They should also be the ones taking the responsibility should they not give permission to this.

it is unfair,fair and simple.

Women are not objects and we have the right to choose our fate.(In any part or country in the world.)

Hmmm...well I don't know. I think that if a man is wanting to go through such extreme measures as going to court to keep his baby...because it is his baby too...then he probably wants to be in the baby's life. Women do it all the time...they have a baby even though the father wants nothing to do with it. So why can't a father have the right to not have is child killed? If he agrees to take full custodial responsibility, then what is the problem? The woman doesn't have to be in the baby's life.

Maybe I am just biased because I don't believe in abortion at all. I think it is so horrible that it is legalized. God doesn't make accidents...every child is a child of God...and to think that it is legal to kill that child because you are irresponsible...makes me sad.

Well in here it is very rare that a father wishes to be part of his child's life and take truly the responsibility and custody.I mean of course the father has rights, but still the fact has always been IMO that woman has the right to choose what happens to her body.

or in her body. That's why I can understand abortion so well. But still in God's eyes it is a murder of an innocent person.

Kudos to all who believe men to be that good,or maybe I am just cynical in that aspect.

Well you are right...all men are not that good!! But most men who want nothing to do with the baby will not go to court and go to the use their rights of having the woman keep the baby. They would only go through that if they wanted to be in the baby's life.

I think that if they don't plan on taking responsibility for the baby they will just tell the mom "I don't care. I don't want the baby. Have the abortion."
